Bob was born March 9, 1954 in Greenville, NC. He was the son of the late Charles Tucker Hudson and Alice Moore Hudson, also of Greenville.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 28 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary’s St., Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends following the service. His request that his ashes rest among his beloved mountains of Southwestern Virginia will be honored in a private service.
He is survived by sons, William Bryan Hudson of Charlotte and Christopher Tucker Hudson of Raleigh; brother, Charles T. Hudson, Jr. of Ringgold, GA; nephew, Alan Hudson of Washington; friend, Diane Ashby.
Bob graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1976 with a B.S. degree in chemistry. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He worked for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for 33 years. He began work with the Department June 27, 1977 as an agricultural chemist in the Agronomic Services Division. He worked with the Food and Drug Protection Division during the remainder of his tenure, serving as Pesticide and Field Supervisor and Food Regulatory Supervisor for eastern North Carolina from 1988 to 2002. At his death, he was a chemistry technician with the Division.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the NC Wildlife Federation, 1024 Washington St., Raleigh, NC 27605 or to the charity of one’s choice.
