Robert E. Godfrey, Sr. (Bob), age 83, of Raleigh, N.C. went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday morning, September 10, 2018. Bob was born in Clarksburg, WV on July 23, 1935 to Archie Godfrey and Mary (Estep) Godfrey (both deceased.)
Surviving Bob is his wife of 62 years, Nora (Bryant) Godfrey. Bob had two sons, Robert Jr. (Bobby) and wife Debra (Hall) Godfrey, and Todd and wife Melissa (Isaacs) Godfrey. Bob had three grandchildren; Maxwell (Alaina) Godfrey, Katie (Jacob) Motley, and Madelyn Godfrey.
Bob served his country in the US Army. He was a faithful member of Colonial Baptist Church, Cary, N.C. He loved his Lord, his family and the West Virginia Mountaineers.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and words of kindness during this time. We go forward knowing our Hope is eternal and that we will be together again.
A private memorial service will be held for the immediate family.
