Renee Larson Kime, 41, of Raleigh, NC passed away on January 26, 2019 at Duke Hospital after a long illness. A “Celebration of Life” service will be held Sunday, February 3rd at 1 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather to share stories and memories to honor Renee’s life. This will be followed by a reception and visitation at the funeral home. A private burial will be held later.
Renee was born on February 17, 1977 in Toms River, New Jersey to Rocky and Janet Larson. She earned a BS in marketing at East Carolina University in 1999 and had a career in computer sales, rising to Vice President at CHOICE! Computer Center, before becoming a stay at home mom. She married Shaun Kime on June 13, 2008. They had two daughters, Elyssa (9) and Anderson (7). She was an active fundraiser for cancer research, participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life for 16 years. She bravely beat cancer twice and a lung infection once before finally succumbing to complications of a second lung infection. In her spare time, Renee played soccer, collected friendships, and looked after others. Renee was a kind and spirited woman who blessed the lives of all she knew.
Renee is survived by her husband, Shaun, and two daughters, Elyssa and Anderson. She is also survived by her parents, Rocky and Janet Larson, her sister, Robin Kuri, brother-in-law, Doug Kuri, and niece, Eva Kuri.
