Randolph James Hill

Randy grew up in Bath, NY and attended Haverling High School. While he enjoyed classes, nothing made him happier than playing baseball – especially when he hit a homerun at the Red Wing stadium in Rochester, NY.

He went on to attend Notre Dame University as ROTC Army for his undergraduate degree, and Wake Forest for his law degree. Soon after, he served as a Captain in the United States Army JAG Corps from 1987 to 1993.

While working as an attorney in Raleigh, NC for the past 24 years he found plenty of ways to enjoy his free time. As an avid sports fan he enjoyed playing golf, cheering for Notre Dame football, the Carolina Hurricanes, and the New York Yankees at his favorite sports bars. He loved hanging out with his family and friends and offering his political views.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Betty Lou and Patt Gleason, sister and brother-in-law, Ronica and Tim VanGelder, niece and nephew, Erin and Mitchell VanGelder, along with many close aunts, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Mitchell’s Funeral Home - 7209 Glenwood Ave. - Raleigh, NC.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Bath - 6 East Morris St. - Bath, NY. Graveside Services will follow at Nondaga Cemetery in Bath, NY.
