Rae Ann Thompson

Rae Ann was born in Rockford, IL on November 17th, 1949 to the late Donald and Margaret Blanchard. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her brother Mark Blanchard.

Rae Ann is survived by her husband of almost 53 years, Bob Thompson; daughter Christa Laucher, Son-in-law Scott Laucher and granddaughter Savannah Laucher of Fincastle, VA; sister Pam Vermillion of Ball Ground, GA.

One of Rae Ann’s greatest joys was showing off pictures and bragging about her granddaughter, especially of her dance journey through the years. Her passions were genealogy and playing canasta (samba) in card groups with her friends. She enjoyed daily games of canasta (samba) with her husband.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October, 14, 2023 at 1:00pm at Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC, 27609. The Thompson family will receive family and friends after the service.
