Penelope Cady Heyel was born on March 9th, 1941, and passed away at 83 years old on October 15th, 2024. She is survived by her two children Donald Kevin Heyel (Anna M. Heyel) and Donna Heyel Hansen; two granddaughters Morgan Heyel-Hansen Tapper (Jason Robert Tapper) and Amanda Christine Hill; and one great grandchild McKenzie Reese Tapper.
Penny is also survived by 3 sisters-in-law Diane H. Cady, Kathy Heyel Albright, and Mary Jane Peebles (Robert Alvin Peebles).
Nieces and nephews include Robert A.H. Cady, Debra Gerbich, Kelly Heyel, Tracy Boyd, Chris Heyel, Leslie Marino, Amy Fernandez, Brian Albright, and Matthew Albright. He was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Kevin Heyel, parents Donald and Patricia Cady, one brother Donald H. Cady and one brother-in-law Donald Phillip Heyel.
Penny graduated from Horace Greeley High School in Chappaqua, New York and attended Endicott College in Beverly, Ma. Upon graduation, she began a career as housewife, homemaker, and eventually mother. When her husband had his own business, she maintained the company’s books. After her children began their own lives, Penny began working with the Salvation Army for several years. Penny has a strong religious faith and was very active with St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church. She was an avid sportswoman and loved the game of tennis and golf. Penny took great pride in the many continental trips she and Doug took in their later years.
A Mass and Celebration of life will take place on Thursday October 31st at 10:30 am at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church and the Salvation Army. Online condolences can be sent to:
