Paul L. Hinds

He was born April 13, 1920 in Salem, IN to parents, Charles Francis Hinds and Stella McKnight Hinds. He is survived by Virginia Hinds, his wife of 21 years, children Paul L. Hinds Jr., Timothy Hinds, Catherine Petersen, Susan Petersen, Mary Kirsten, Virginia Street, John Nagy, and Charles Nagy; 29 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his first wife of 46 years, Stella Hildebrand Hinds (Sept. 1988), and his daughter, Carolyn Sue Lindsey (June 2010), and his three siblings.

Paul retired after 20 years of service in the U.S. Army. He then became a self-employed insurance agent. He was a 65-year member and a past president of the Raleigh Host Lions Club, where he was a Melvin Jones fellow and a Jack Stickley fellow. He was also an avid gardener.

There will be a visitation Tuesday, January 17th, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home 300 St. Mary’s Street, Raleigh. Inurnment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Raleigh Host Lions Club.
