Born in 1948 to Latham and Frances Newsom Miller, Nancy was a lifelong resident of Raleigh and an avid fan of NC State sports. As a member of the Wolfpack Club, she attended most basketball and football games.
Nancy was accomplished in her career, first becoming the Chief Administrative Officer and then Vice President of Tangram Enterprise Solutions, then serving as the President of Physicians Pharmacy Alliance. In her later years, she fulfilled her dream of owning a coffee and garden shop–Maude’s Garden and Coffee–which was beloved by many in the community.
As she was successful in her accomplishments throughout her life, she was often encouraging and nurturing others, providing opportunities for them to grow and find their own way. There’s not a person who has met her whose life has not been touched by her. She was truly one of a kind.
Anyone who knew Nancy would know that she enjoyed gardening and was particularly good at growing tomatoes and peppers. In addition to gardening, she loved collecting antiques and had a keen eye for decorating with them. Cats were her favorite pets. A pastime she particularly enjoyed was burgers and fries from Char-Grill with family.
She was a foundational family member and a devoted mother–survived by her siblings, brother David Miller (Sue Miller) and sister Deborah Miller Jaques (Keith Jaques); her two sons, Christopher and Matthew (Emily Davidson); “honorary son” Jon Delgado (Siria Delgado); her nephew Cody Jaques, niece Miranda Miller Adams (Jeff Adams), great-niece and great-nephew Luca & Hattie Adams, and “honorary niece,” Page Newsom Pelphrey.
A private ceremony will be held in Raleigh.
