Sarah and Susan,
I was told of Mike's homegoing today. You have my deepest sympathy. Mike and I worked together at Progress Energy. We also had the opportunity to retire at the same time. Mike was a wonderful person. I have many fond memories of him. Like others I enjoyed watching Mike trying to tell a story with tears of laughter in his eyes. His calm and loving personality will be missed by all.

Sarah:
I just noticed in the Danville paper the passing of Mike. I couldn't believe it. 
As you know I have known Mike since the 10th grade in high school. He never changed. He was a first class person.
 As you know, I had lunch with Mike in Greensboro about a year ago and he looked the same as he did 60 years ago. I am so glad that I had an opportunity to meet him for lunch.
I will try to be at the burial in Danville tomorrow.

Dearest Sarah and Susan, So sad to read of  Mike's death this morning.  What a great neighbor and sorry we haven't kept in touch to see your grandchildren.  Our hearts go out to all the family.  He will surely be missed.

I am saddened to hear of Mike's passing.  Mike and I worked together at Progress Energy for many years.  There was never a dull moment as Mike had a way of expressing his interpretation of things.  We have all lost a friend.

I also worked with Mike many years at Progress Energy, and like others have mentioned, I loved to listen to his stories like only Mike could tell them. I can picture him with tears of laughter in his eys as he told Jack and Frances stories. We've missed him so much since he retired! My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike for a lot of years at CP&L. I retired in 2001 and will always remember the wonderful person Mike always was. I love the obit part that said "He was a true Southern gentleman." That sums up exactly how I felt about Mike. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Our friendship goes back so many years ago. We went to school together and grew up in the same church. We know you, Susan and your grandchildren will miss Mike so much but we all know he is in a better place...the place he spent his life here on earth preparing for. Our love.

Please accept our deepest sympathy upon the passing of your dear husband, Mike.  The time we spend with you both in China, and the reunions, have bore many wonderful memories.  You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Mike and I had been pals since the second grade at John L. Berkely Elementary in Danville, Virginia.  We did a lot of things together all through high school. Mike was my good friend and my wife and I managed to see him and Sarah via alternating trips between Austin, TX and Raliegh NC.  I know I will miss him.

Sarah, we were so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. even though we only knew him through travelling together to China, and then our annual reunions, we really liked and enjoyed Mike very much. Mike was such a sweet and thoughtful person. I loved working with him at Progress Energy. We have missed him. We all met for lunch a few years ago and had such a good time. Please know that Mike and his family are in our thoughts.

Sarah, it was sad to hear of Mike's illness and death.  It was such a blessing to have known and worked with/for Mike at Progress Energy.  I have many fond memories of the time we worked together.  

He had a special way about him that all enjoyed. Like Gale Etheridge said-we all just loved to hear Mike tell his stories, especially the grandchildren stories.  

He loved you fully and was so proud of his family.  The grandchildren brought him a lot of pleasure and he talked about them often.  

If you knew him-you loved him!

I know he will be tremendously missed.

Mike was a pretty cool guy. I worked with him many years at Progress Energy and always enjoyed being around him. He could make me laugh like no one else. He had a special sense of humor. He will be missed.

It is with great sadness we learned of Mickey's passing.  I have always felt so close to both of you.  My grandmother always spoke so highly of Mickey and it was with good reason.  He was a wonderful man, father,husband, nephew and cousin.  I cannot put into words what a loss this is for all of us.   I feel so blessed to have know you for so long.  
  I wish that we had been able to come down for the funeral.  Please know that we a sending you much love and many prayers at this difficult time.

Mike was a very special person and to know him was a blessing to anyone. Having worked with him, we always enjoyed the "Mike Stories" as only he could tell and make us laugh and cry at the same time. I know the memories of how special Mike was will be remembered by so many,  as he was a friend forever. Sarah, Susan and family, Mike will always be in your hearts and memories and know that friends share in your loss.
