He had a gentle soul with a ready smile and the need to help others. Matt was an avid gamer and could be found on the Warcraft website participating in endless quests with his friends or as a dark elf in Morrowind and Oblivion. Matthew was quick to help out family and friends assisting everyone and asking for nothing in return, offering friendship and love. Matt loved dogs, tropical fish, and from his earliest years was an avid collector of everything from Magic cards to pogs. Matt was smart and energetic and generous to a fault. He enjoyed long showers, listening to music, skateboarding, sky diving, driving, working on cars and was eager to get a motorcycle like his dad.
Matthew graduated from Leesville High School and attended East Carolina University and Wake Tech Community College.
Matt is survived by his dog Bella, parents Ed and Bev Deasy, and his older brother Ted Deasy, of Raleigh, his paternal grandparents, Ed and Mel Deasy of Brooksville, Florida, his Aunts and Uncles: Debbie Shade of Scottsdale, Virginia, Eileen Jimenez, Maureen and Mike Reidy, Christine and Christopher Christoff of Tampa, Florida, and Kathy and Huey Dyer of Cincinnati, Ohio.
