Mary Holloway Ferrell

Mary Elizabeth Holloway Ferrell, 89 passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 25, 2012. She was born on March 23, 1923 in Garner, NC beloved daughter of Henry Gaston Holloway and Goldie Gattis Holloway.

Mary or “Mary Lib” to her close friends was a graduate of Garner High School class of 1940. Mary spent her adult life as a devoted wife to her husband of 65 years, and doting mother to her three sons. She was a member of Samaria Baptist Church where she was married, and later joined Boylan Heights Baptist. She was a gifted pianist who enjoyed entertaining friends and family at her home along with her father who played the mandolin. She loved animals, especially dogs and cats. Mary was a very compassionate, giving person who made friends easily.

She is remembered by her husband Clarence Irvin Ferrell, and by her sons, Tim Ferrell of Raleigh, Lance Ferrell and wife Sherry of Cary, Randy Ferrell, and Demetra Ferrell of Raleigh. She will also be missed by her 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 3 pm on Sunday July 29 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Marys Street, Raleigh. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 1:30-3:00 pm at the funeral home. Graveside services will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
