Not knowing how great her life would go and all that she would do!
Just a coal miner's daughter, pretty much like Dolly Parton.
But a singer she was not as her siblings had a band,
All Mary Lou could do was play the spoons with her little hand.
To most she was a proper lady, so shy and reserved,
She would give or help anyone, even to those who knew it was not deserved.
You may have seen her hard at work wrapping loved ones gifts
Or even meet her for lunch at K & W between her shifts.
Did you see her at a Millbrook football game shouting "great home run!" from the stands
How she was overjoyed at her boys and their athletic hands!
She was so "Fat and Purdy" as Big Ma would say,
Oh she was angered but kept her grace and beauty until the very last day.
Mary is now back with her best friends and the one who called her wife,
Oh how we will miss having her smile in our life.
Fiddle Sticks! Why did you have to leave today?
Can you talk to Jesus and see if you can just stay?
Alright, alright. We will let you go.
But before we do we want you to know,
We love you Mom, Grandma, Friend, Sister and Wife,
We could have never been us without you in our life!
Thank you, Mary Lou,
For your love that has always shown through!
A funeral service for Mary was held on Monday, February 6, 2023 in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home.
