Marie Antoinette Tyson Moody ("Toni"), age 92 and wife of 36 years to James Roy Moody, was called home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2023. Toni was born on February 4, 1931 to Richard Nathan and Bessie Spence Tyson. She grew up in a rural area of Raleigh, N.C. - where Toni spent lots of time, alongside her father, carrying out the many tasks involved in keeping the store up and running and attended Hardbargers Business School, after which she used her acquired business skills in various jobs as well as in her later years of life in family and personal endeavors.
Toni also methodically and regularly studied God's Word, making prayer an important part of her life. In her study Bible is marked Romans 12:2 which reads: "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is." Now, in eternity, Toni is experiencing the fullness of God's miraculous transformation in His very presence along with loved ones who have gone before her.
Toni is survived by her Daughter, Teressa Langston Bralley (Jim) of Raleigh; Son, Walker Langston Jr. of Raleigh; Grandsons, Jonathan Langston, Samuel Langston, and their Mother, Elizabeth Wilson. Toni is also survived by a Brother, Richard E. Tyson (Mae Douglas) of Georgia. In addition to her parents, Toni was preceded in death by a Brother, William C. Tyson (Bill) and Walker Langston Sr., father of Teressa and Walker. Toni is also survived by Nieces and Nephews who were very dear to her.
Toni also leaves behind two Step Daughters, Sybil Moody Trevisan (Paul) of Southport, and Sharon Moody Evans (Billy) of Rolesville; Step Grandchildren, Kristen Trevisan Ohrel (Jeff); Kevin Trevisan (Liz); and a Step Great Grandson, Paul Ohrel.
A service to celebrate and remember Toni's life will be held on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00-2:00pm in the Mausoleum Chapel for the visitation, followed by a service of remembrance at 2:00pm also in the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church, where Toni was a member as well as active in the United Victory Bible Class; 1417 Clifton Street, Raleigh, NC 27604; or to Safe Haven for Cats, 8431 Garvey Drive, #137 Raleigh, NC 27616.
