

Marian Caton Morrison, 80, of Raleigh died on December 11, 2020. Marian attended Women’s College in Greensboro, NC and worked for a short time as a bookkeeper for Wachovia Bank. She went on to be a homemaker. She was a deeply devoted caregiver to her family. Marian married her high school sweetheart, Jim, and were married for 59 years until his passing in 2019. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren. Her passions in life aside from family included playing bridge and reading.
Marian is survived by her son, James Morrison, Jr. (Jill) of Raleigh and daughter, Martha Hunt (Buck) of Cary; grandchildren, Matthew Hunt (Fiancé Jessica Edmundson) of Chapel Hill and Hannah Hunt of Cary. She is also survived by her sister, Martha White of Lillian, AL and sister-in-law Maxann Morrison of Suffolk, VA; as well as nieces, nephews and many friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Morrison, Sr.; her parents, William and Marian Caton; brother, William Caton, II; and brothers-in-law, Florin White and George Morrison.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 16 at 2:00pm at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. Those in attendance must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marian’s memory to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
