Margaret W. Sloan passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at her home with her children by her side. She was welcomed with open arms by her Heavenly Father and was reunited with her loving, faithful husband. They are celebrating their first Sunday in heaven holding hands and worshipping at the feet of Jesus.
Margaret was born October 13, 1923 in Harnett County to the late William and Gaynell Wade. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, George W. Sloan, Sr.; her son, Michael Alan Sloan; brothers, Ellis Wade, James Wade and William Wade; sisters, Opal Dickens and Pauline Matthews.
She is survived by her children: Judith Johnson and husband, Dave, of Raleigh; George W. Sloan, Jr. and wife, Judy, of Wake Forest; Rhina Moore and husband, Harold, of Raleigh; and Timothy W. Sloan of Holden Beach; sisters, Willie Reardon and husband, Wilton, of Durham; Eva Knight and husband, Philip, of Chapel Hill, 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Her greatest joy in life was caring for her five children and raising them in a loving Christian home. She loved God and was a faithful servant until her health declined. She attended North Raleigh Chapel.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 10:00-11:00 am at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh. Funeral services will follow immediately at 11:00 am in the Brown-Wynne Chapel. Burial will be at Raleigh Memorial Park on Glenwood Ave.
