Margaret Morgan Palmer

Passed, Margaret (Marti) Palmer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dear friend to many. Born in Pitt County, from an early age Marti has made her home here in Raleigh. Over the years she has been active both in her church as well other organizations including her sorority, Laureate Alpha Nu, and the Mordecai House.

Marti retired from WakeMed Health and Hospitals in late 2012 where working as a patient information service representative and she befriended so many. In her spare time she enjoyed working on her flower garden and home and spending time with her family and friends.

Marti is survived by her husband Gerald Palmer; her siblings, William Morgan and Vivian Moore as well as a very large combined family that includes her three children, Lela Hinson, Linda Armstrong, and Steven Hinson; two grandsons, Earl Bullard and William Hinson; and one great-granddaughter, Annabelle Bullard.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ferrell and Nannie Morgan as well as two sisters, Mildred Morgan and Mary Alice Brock.

She will be greatly missed. Visitation will take place at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd in Raleigh, from 7pm to 9pm Monday July 1 with service to follow the next day at Hayes Barton Baptist Church, 1800 Glenwood Avenue, at 2pm Tuesday July 2.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hayes Barton Baptist Church Television Ministry.
