Louie Thomas Lassiter

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was retired Professor of the College of Textiles at North Carolina State University.

Mr. Lassiter was a member of Wrightsville United Methodist Church. He was a Past Master of James B. Green Lodge No. 735, AF&AM; a Past Patron of James B. Green Chapter No. 352, Order of the Easter Star, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Raleigh, and the Amran Shrine Temple.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Louie Thomas Lassiter II; and his son-in-law, Paul R. Murphy.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy H. Lassiter; his daughter, Cindy Murphy of Wilmington. His sons, Jim Lassiter (Sheila) of Raleigh, and Al (Stefani) Lassiter of Lenoir and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers: Bob (Mary Jo) and Ben (Judy) both of Raleigh as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary’s Street. His Funeral Service will be held in the Mausoleum of Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 3:00 PM with Masonic graveside service to follow.
