Lorrie was born on March 27, 1962, in Zumbrota, Minnesota. She was a bright individual who excelled in high school and was named Salutatorian of her graduating class in Wanamingo, MN. She had a passion for sports, particularly basketball and volleyball, and was also involved in music, playing the flute in the band and singing in the choir.
After graduating with her MBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Minnesota, Lorrie embarked on a successful career. She worked at IBM until 2013, initially in Florida and later in North Carolina. In 2013, her division was sold to Toshiba Global Commerce, and she worked for them until 2019.
In her free time, Lorrie indulged in her hobbies, which included attending concerts of both local bands and national artists, supporting her childhood favorite Minnesota Vikings, and the Carolina Panthers of her adopted home state. She was also a skilled cook who enjoyed exploring new recipes and foods. Lorrie loved her neighborhood, actively participating in neighborhood events and city council meetings, advocating for causes that impacted her community.
Lorrie is survived by her son, Derek; daughter, Leah; their father, Gerry; mother, Joan; brothers, Dennis and Clifford; and sister, Sally. She also leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Lorrie was preceded in death by her father, Charles; brother, David; and grandparents.
Memorial services for Lorrie will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina on Friday, February 23, 2024, at 1:30 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, located at 300 Saint Mary's Street, Raleigh, NC 27605, and in Minnesota, her final resting place, at a date to be determined.
Lorrie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be forever in our hearts.
