Born on March 12, 1975, Lori was a proud graduate of Needham B. Broughton High School, class of 1993, and UNCW. To know Lori was to know joy, spontaneity, and a deep love for connection. She had a magnetic energy that drew people in—an unshakable free spirit with a kind heart and a vivacious presence that made anyone she was speaking with feel special.
Lori was a loyal and longtime employee at SoftPro, where she worked for 27 years as a project manager. Known for wearing many hats, she was always ready to support her collogues and help wherever she was needed.
A lifelong lover of music, Lori found her rhythm in the vibrant sounds of her favorite band, Phish. She followed them to concerts across the country, finding community and freedom in the melodies that moved her. But it wasn't just music that brought her joy—it was people. Lori never met a stranger. She was endlessly curious about others and had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and loved.
Lori is survived by her loving parents, Loren B. Harrell Jr. and Susan Harrell; her brother Matt Harrell; sister-in-law Anne Elizabeth Harrell; and her beloved niece and nephew, Ebie and Matthew Harrell.
A private family service will be held on April 29th, followed by a celebration of Lori’s life and visitation that same day from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a shared remembrance at 4:00 p.m., at TRAINE at Seaboard Station, 121 Seaboard Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27604; https://www.traineatseaboardstation.com/
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a cause that speaks to your heart.
Brown-Wynne, 300 Saint Mary's St., Raleigh, is serving the Harrell family.
