Linda Cohen of Durham, NC passed away on February 15, 2016. A native of Long Island, NY, Linda graduated from the University of Cincinnati, Hofstra University, and the College of St. Rose. A career educator and administrator, Linda spent over 20 years as Special Education Administrator for the Massapequa School District. Her passion and dedication to the students she served and the teachers she mentored was without comparison.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Jeffrey, children Nina and Peter Garlington, Eric Cohen and Sandi Kronick, grandchildren Ava Garlington, Ella Cohen and Nathan Cohen, and sister Ellen Waserstein.
A funeral will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 1:00pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home in Raleigh, NC at 1701 East Millbrook Road. There will be a further celebration of Linda's life on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 3:00pm at Gutterman's Funeral Home in Woodbury, NY.
