Linda was born in Oneida NY, June 27, 1947, to the late William and Mabelle Mack. She grew up in Hamilton, and graduated in 1965 from Hamilton Central School. Upon graduating, she was a cook at Seven Oaks Golf Course until she began her daycare business where she spent over 30 years caring for, and building the foundation of countless children from Hamilton and the surrounding areas. For 3 years, she owned and operated Calico Kitchen Restaurant, where she served her delicious home cooked meals.
Linda was an avid fan of Colgate University athletics, attending hockey and football games regularly. Linda was proud of her hometown of Hamilton. She opened her home as a bed and breakfast, and welcomed families of Colgate students at each major event during the school year. At Christmas, you could find her dressed up as Mrs Claus with Santa at the Colgate Inn, spreading holiday cheer to the locals.
Linda moved to North Carolina in 2010 to be closer to her daughter and granddaughters. She loved reading, gardening, sewing, and crafting countless projects from sea shells that she collected from hours strolling on the beach. She was famous for her rice bags which she made and gifted to soothe achy muscles. She was a Carolina Hurricanes fan, watching all the games dressed in red, white and black, and cheering for her favorite, Brett Burns each game.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Paige Bean Kirk, and her fiancé, Jason Brame; granddaughters, Morgan and Madison Kirk, all of Raleigh NC; nieces, Tammy Denison and Kimberly Bennett; god children, Keiko and Kenji Yoshino. She is also survived by Jason’s daughter, Abby Brame, and her daughter Blair.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Milford Mack, sister, Loretta Bennett, and nephews, Scott and Rich Denison.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Hamilton, New York, in July of 2024, with further details forthcoming.
