Linda Barnes

Linda was born on March 11, 1948, and was raised in Franklin, VA. She was the daughter of Lessie Faison Whitley, and the late Franklin Ellsworth Whitley.

Linda was married to Bruce Wachob on November 22, 2019. They were together over twenty years.

Linda graduated from Barton College with a BSN. She worked as a nurse, hospital case manager, and also tirelessly worked with process improvement in the medical field. She retired from Duke Hospital in 2021. Linda was an avid gardener. She enjoyed working outdoors.

Linda is survived by spouse, Bruce Wachob; her children, Heather Barnes Vann and husband Chris, Catherine Faison Barnes; and granddaughter, Abby Vann; Brother, Randy Whitley and wife, Carolyn; nephew, Jason Whitley and wife, Jennifer; niece, Laura Thomas and husband, Ben and children.

A private service will be held for family. Arrangements by Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 East Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.
