Laura Mary Zenk

Our beautiful Laura Mary Zenk born June 12th, 2000, passed on September 5th, 2023 in Raleigh, NC. She was an honors graduate from Hermon High School and pursued an Honors Academic career at Eastern Connecticut State University where she achieved a dual bachelors degree in Sociology and Criminology with a minor in Psychology. She thrived as a student and athlete, concluding her softball career as lucky #7 for the ECSU Warriors. Her ambition for psychology and law continued as she became a Probation Officer for the state of North Carolina.

Laura was a true light in all of our lives that served as an immense source of infectious positivity. Many would describe her as a light that would emanate through any room. At a mighty 5’0” she had a giant presence that stood as a force to be reckoned with. She was fluent in sarcasm, a snack connoisseur, avid napper and a Just Dance Champion!

The epitome of an ANGEL. She glowed, her soul, her face, her energy, one of the kindest people anyone could have met. She left her mark on this world that will forever shine!

She is survived by her mother, Sara Luciano of Maine, her favorite partner in crime and brother Jackson Zenk of Maine, brother William McDonald and wife Joselyn of Vermont. Sara’s significant other Tyler McIntosh and his children Hannah and Brody. Grandmothers Barbara “Babs” Gray of Florida and Jane Zenk of Maine. She is predeceased by her father Carl Zenk, grandparents John Gray, Joseph Zenk, great-grandparents Laverne & Clifford Miller, Laura & Robert Rosenwald, Ilse and Ernst Zenk, and her favorite companion and soulmate, Diesel.

Family and friends are invited to her celebration of life, Saturday September 23rd from 2-4pm at the Penobscot Country Club 366 Main St. Orono, ME 04473
