Laura was born on January 9, 1929, to Lula Wilborn Lowery and Henry Hugo Lowery in Halifax County, Virginia. After graduating from Cluster Springs High School, she received nursing training at South Boston (Virginia) General Hospital. Later she worked at Person Memorial Hospital, Roxboro, NC, where she met Claude Warren who would become her husband of 62 years.

In addition to her parents, Laura was predeceased by her husband, two brothers, and a nephew.
She is survived by son Glenn (Alison) of Raleigh, son David (Don Spencer) of Roswell, GA, granddaughter Mary Elizabeth of Raleigh, grandson Henry (Sarah) and their daughters Prescott and Lowery of Raleigh, and sister Lucy Russell of Clarksville, VA.
The family extends special thanks to Laura’s dear friend Anne Bokeny, to Maggie White of Vitality Health and Care Services and her wonderful team of caregivers: Denise, Paola, Rachel, Miriam, Nancy and Rakey, and to Dawn of Transitions LifeCare.
