L. Burks Crumpler Sr.

He was born August 19, 1941 in Sanford NC, the son of Margaret Burks and Leonard H. Crumpler who preceded him in death. Burks was also preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret Becton Crumpler and sister Carol Crumpler Verrone. He is survived by wife Joanne, son Leonard Burks Crumpler, Jr. and wife Mary Crute Crumpler, his twin grandsons, Edward Burks Crumpler and Webb Crute Crumpler, stepsons Adam and Alex Burr and stepdaughter Michelle James and husband Kevin James.

Burks was a graduate of Needham B. Broughton High School and attended NC State University. He spent most of his career in the Real Estate Business. He served as President of the Raleigh Board of Realtors as an office manager for Bacon and Company, Merrill Lynch Realty and Prudential Carolinas Realty. The remaining years were spent as an agent with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services York, Simpson, Underwood. He was a member of the Carolina Country Club where he was known as an accomplished golfer, the Terpsicorean Club serving as President in 1976, the Back Bench Boys and Christ Church Episcopal.

The family is grateful for friends far and near for their continued support over the past years.
