Kristie White Butler passed away in her home on May 31, 2016. She was the daughter of Thomas Michael White and Anne Bittinger White. She was born in Raleigh, NC, graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School in 1987, and graduated from Wake Forest University in 1991.
Throughout her life, Kristie was always known as one of the sweetest, kindest people you could meet. Whether it was a friend or stranger, if somebody was in need she was always willing to help. For those who knew her well, they’ll always remember her as a person who did things quickly – from winning 100-meter races in high school to decorating an entire house, it never took her long to get anything done. Growing up, it was often a little embarrassing to her brothers that she was known as the fastest child in the house. She loved to laugh, enjoyed spending beach time and holidays with her family, and truly adored all of her nieces and nephews. More than anything, however, she loved her two boys, Michael Bennett Butler and Matthew Logan Butler, and cherished every moment she spent with them.
In addition to her parents and two children, she is survived by her husband Wayne Bennett Butler; her brother Scott, his wife Andrea, and their children Jackson and Megan, her brother Kevin, his wife Ashleigh, and their children Lola and James.
Following a private burial, a memorial service to honor Kristie's life will be held Monday, June 6 at 3:00pm at White Memorial Presbyterian Church in Raleigh. The family will receive friends after the service in the Jane Bell Gathering Space.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to White Memorial Presbyterian Church at 1704 Oberlin Road, Raleigh, NC 27608.
Arrangements by Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Saint Mary's St., Raleigh. Condolences may be made through brownwynne.com.
