Kathy Jean Malone

Kathy loved the outdoors and connecting with nature. Spending over three decades as a health professional in cardiology, she always put others first. She was known as an exceptionally caring person who would take in any soul in need. Most of all she loved spending time with friends and family. Her young grandchildren were the pride of her life.

Kathy is survived by her son, Andy Wheeler and his wife Renee of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Emmilyn and Everett Wheeler; her mother, Irma Malone; sister, Barbara Johnson; and brother, David Malone and his wife, Renee.

The family will receive visitors at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 3-5 PM. A private service for Kathy was previously held in Alabama.

In lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations be made to Construction Kids Preschool, 9801 Durant Road, Raleigh, NC 27615.
