Kathryn B. Bryd Ward

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012 at Trinity Baptist Church, 4815 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27609. Interment will follow the service at Raleigh Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends 12:00 – 2:00 Friday February 10, 2012 at Trinity Baptist Church.

Kathryn was born July 10, 1927 in Dillon, SC to Robert Lee Byrd and Madge Augusta Martin Byrd. She was a homemaker, loving mother, and devoted charter member of Trinity Baptist Church where she served in many of the ministries of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband William Andrew Ward, her parents, a sister Gussy Moore, three brothers: George, Fred, and Frank Byrd, and a great great granddaughter.

Kathryn is survived by her sons Bobby Ward and his wife Gail of Canton, GA; and Bill Ward and his wife Vickie of Salisbury, NC; daughter Kathy Graham-Ward and her partner Bobbi of Durham; sister Nell Gable of Hartsville, SC; brothers Joe Byrd; and Martin Byrd and his wife Martha both of Darlington, SC; grandchildren Kimberly Keller of Woodstock, GA; Robby Ward and his wife Megan of Marietta, GA; Jason Ward of Charlotte, NC; Lindsay Schmeltzer and her husband Patrick of Salisbury, NC; and Christi Dillon and her husband Chip of Raleigh; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
