Judith (Judy) Elizabeth Engel Clark, 83, died on April 30, 2024 at home with her husband by her side. Judy was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late George and Eileen Engel. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Laurel, and brother, George. Judy received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. While at UC, Judy met and then married her husband, Roger.
Judy was a public health nurse in Cincinnati, Ohio and Seattle, Washington and then continued her nursing career in a physicians office in Charlottesville, Virginia. She later became a full-time homemaker with two children; and Judy, Roger and their children moved to Raleigh in 1969. She was a volunteer at Rex Hospital for several years in the same-day surgery center and a dedicated band parent when her children were at Broughton High School.
Judy was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was smart, strong, kind and generous, and had a great sense of humor. She was an avid hockey fan and loved her Carolina Hurricanes.
Judy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Roger Clark; her daughter, Kyla Clark Patterson (Stewart); her son, Andrew Clark (Amy); five grandchildren, Connor (29), Griffin (26), Harrison (24), Jackson (22), and Riley (15); and one great grandchild, Addie (5 months).
