Joyce Branch Causby

Joyce Branch Causby, daughter of the late William L. (Billie) Branch and Clara Smith Branch, of Greenville, NC, passed away on December 11, 2020. Mrs. Causby was born in Winterville, NC on April 30, 1930. She attended East Carolina University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She was an elementary school teacher for 28 years in the North Carolina public schools prior to her retirement in 1990. She met and married George B. Causby on May 29, 1954.

Mrs. Causby is survived by her husband of 66 years; daughter Toni Walton and her husband Billy Walton; son Marty Causby and his wife Colleen Causby; granddaughters Lauren Causby and Michele Minehart; grandsons Blake Walton, Chad Walton, and Richard Oeters; great grand children Aiden, Lili, Luca, Lettie, Ashlyn, Dylan, and Rachel.

Mrs. Causby was a loving wife and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family and love of teaching little children were the greatest joys of her life. She and her husband resided in Raleigh N.C. for 53 years. Mrs. Causby was a long-time member of Hayes Barton Baptist Church and an active member of the Townsend Couples Class. She actively participated in the Raleigh Host Lions Club for many years alongside her husband George Causby.

Service for Mrs. Causby will be private with burial to take place at Raleigh Memorial Park.
