Joseph Early Morgan

My dear husband, Joe, went home to be with the Lord in his Heavenly home Sunday morning, June 25, 2017. He was preceded in death by his mother Velma, his father Jim; his brother, Bobby; his baby sister, Jane; and his sons, Gary and Patrick.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of 67 1/2 years; his son Douglas, his son Michael and wife Kristy; and adopted daughter, Cindy Belcher and family. Joe is also survived by his grandchildren, Christopher, Ethan, Emma, Stephen and wife, Michelle, Kevin, Paige; great -grandson, Ezra; and his beloved canine companion, Missy.

Joe served in the US Navy from 1946 - 1950; serving on the Balao-class submarine, USS Cochino and will be given military funeral honors. He was a member of West Minster Presbyterian Church since 1937 and served in every capacity at the church.

Funeral services will be held at West Minster Presbyterian Church, 301 East Whitaker Mill Rd., Raleigh on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service, from 1-2 pm in the church parlor. Following the funeral service, burial will be held at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens on US Hwy.70. The family will be at their home at 1708 Carson Street, Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to West Minster Presbyterian Church.
