Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kitty; sons, Greg and Bryant Pearce; grandchildren, Stone, Jacob, Bryson, Avery, and Gracie Pearce and Jasmine Barbour; great-grandchildren, Allison, Luke, and Austin Barbour; sister, Judy Radigan and husband, Bob, and sister, Sandy Pearce and husband Tom Havener; other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, David Pearce; father and mother Jake and Etherlene Pearce.
He retired from Watco Corporation after working for over 40 years as a respected and talented pipefitter and piping supervisor. Johnny loved cooking pigs, smoking meats and making his delicious secret recipe BBQ sauce. Johnny was quite the character and often the life of a party with his storytelling, sense of humor, and laughing and joking with family and friends.

A Memorial Service was held Friday, May 24, 2024 in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, inurnment will immediately follow the service in Raleigh Memorial Park. The family received visitors immediately prior to the service on the funeral home.
