John Charles Sullivan

John was born in North Arlington, NJ to the late Helen Clark Sullivan and Martin Sullivan on March 13, 1939. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Judith Sullivan Hamilton and his first wife, the mother of his three daughters, Carol Pine Sullivan.

John is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Elizabeth, three daughters, Laurie S. Powell and husband, Charles, their children Matthew and Megan, by Colleen S. Wilkerson and husband, Mitchell, their children Kendall and Kevin and his daughter, Kathleen M. Sullivan. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Linda S. Jones and husband, Barry and their three children, Danielle M. Lang and husband, John, Elizabeth Jones, Zachary Jones, and three step-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Victoria, and Alexander Lang. Also surviving John is his sister-in-law, Catherine Hinchman and husband, Roy, and his devoted cousin, Patricia Ward and husband, James.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh. John was such a happy man, he requested that cheerful, colorful clothing be worn at his wake, no black please.

A Mass will follow on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., St. Raphael Catholic Church, 5801 Falls of Neuse Rd., Raleigh, NC. A private burial service will be held at a later date.
