A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Trinty Baptist Church, 4815 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27609, with Dr. Jeff Roberts officiating. A private family graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 10:00 am at the church, prior to the service.
JP was born on August 23, 1927, in Guilford County, NC to Charles and Molly Johnson. He was a minister of several churches and retired State employee. He was also a member of Trinty Baptist Church.
JP was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Louise Johnson. He is survived by his daughter Diann Hales and her husband Johnnie of New Bern, daughter Lou Ann and husband John O’Bryant of Charlotte, son Phillip Johnson and wife Terri of Selma. He had 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to charity of choice.
