John David Johnson

John David Johnson 59, of Raleigh, died Thursday, July 21, 2011. John was born on July 22, 1951 in Rocky Mount, NC to the late Henry and Myrtle Hughes Johnson who were the owners of Johnson Funeral Home in Rocky Mount.

John was employed for many years with General Electric as a Nuclear and Electrical Engineer.

John did many volunteer activities with different amateur radio organizations. He was an active amateur radio operator, his call sign was KI4VVC. He was very active with Night Lites ( RARS ) and QRP Society.

John is survived by his wife, Sharon Kay Johnson of Raleigh; daughter, Adrienne Johnson Parsons and her husband Donald of Cary; two sisters, Lynne J. Fischer and her husband Stan of Richmond, VA. and Betty Louise Johnson of Richmond, VA .

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in the Chapel Mausoleum at Raleigh Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends 6-9pm Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home St. Mary’s St.
