John Forest Jenkins

John was born January 01, 1952 in Oxford, NC. A long time resident of Raleigh, NC, he graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School in 1970. He went on to Elon University where he completed his undergraduate degree in music and he completed a Masters degree in music therapy from East Carolina University.

He was a warm human being who loved music and sports. He was an amazing son, brother and uncle. He encouraged and motivated all his nieces and nephews and was an ardent NC State supporter.

Son of the late Samuel Forest Jenkins Jr., Ph.D. and his surviving wife Anne O. Jenkins. He is survived by his sister Kay Springs (Randy Springs) and brother Steven P. Jenkins (Aida M. Cancel, Ph.D); nephews and nieces, Jennifer Parker (Nathaniel Parker), Adam Springs, Samuel F. Jenkins III (Lindsay Lehman Jenkins), Benjamin Jenkins and Lauren Jenkins; and his great nephews, Alex Parker, Kaitlyn Parker, and Meri Parker.

A private memorial will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, Raleigh, NC on Wednesday May 14, 2014.
