Joel Alan Frey, 73, of Raleigh, died Friday, December 7, 2012. A native of Endicott, NY, he was the son of the late Donald and Hetty Avery Frey. Mr. Frey retired in 1991, after 33 years, from IBM in Raleigh. He was an avid supporter of the National Rifle Association and Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by a brother Carl Frey.
Surviving are his wife, of 51 years, Janet Lee Frey of Raleigh; a son, Bradley Alan Frey of Henderson; a daughter, Darice Lee Frey of Wake Forest; two brothers, Walter Frey and wife, Lore of Warwick, NY, Leo Frey of New Mexico.
Memorial Services will be held 11 AM Friday at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NC Cancer Center or DAV.
