Jibrey was born in Raleigh, NC February 13, 1979. As a newborn, Jibrey was placed under lamps to treat jaundice. He must have liked those lamps because Jibrey lived his life in the spotlight ever since. Jibrey was a star in Raleigh, a fact that could be quickly confirmed whenever he walked into a room, restaurant or club. His sense of humor, ability to get along with everyone and DJ skills made him popular with everyone.
But Jibrey was also a hard worker. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Technology and worked as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician at Eaton Inc. In his free time, Jibrey enjoyed spending time with his family—his mother Carolyn, his sisters Shelley, Monique and Tiffany and his niece, Brittni. He also loved his adopted family, the hundreds of friends he made throughout his life. He could often be found “wylin out” with them at cookouts in his mother’s backyard and at local clubs where he spun as DJ Justice. He also loved feeling the wind on his face whether it was snowboarding down the slopes or riding his motorcycle through the streets.
Jibrey had a mischievous nature that could only be rivaled by one creature, his dog, Mos. He “walked” Mos by allowing his dog to pull him down the street as he wore rollerblades. He also counted geckos, an iguana and several snakes as his companions.
Jibrey lived and loved hard. His infectious smile and devious laughter were rarely absent and he made every place he went better—a fact he often contributed to his good looks. Jibrey was called many things by many people: a knucklehead, a clown, a ladies man--to name a few. But the descriptions everyone can agree on are loyal brother, best friend, loving son, and kind soul.
Thank you for being here to remember him and for your support.
