Jeannie C. Dillard

Jeannie C. Dillard, 77, of Raleigh passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a courageous fight with cancer. Jeannie was the daughter of the late William G. and Nellie U. Canaday. She is survived by husband, of 42 years, A. Wayne Dillard, Daughters Donna Poole (Danny) of Raleigh; Dawn Merritt of PA; Grandchildren Danielle Joyner (Courtney) of Angier, Davis Poole (Rebecca) of Apex, and Deena Poole of Raleigh; Great Granddaughter Landyn Joyner and Future Great Grandson Dylan Poole. In addition to her parents, Jeannie is preceded by her brother Richard A. Canaday.

Jeannie enjoyed time at the beach as well as spending time with family and friends. She also loved crafting, bowling and was an active member of Westover UMC.

Services will be held at Westover United Methodist Church, 300 Powell Drive, Raleigh on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Family will greet friends 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh.

The family would like to thank Dr. Leigh Ibach, Nurse Rita Rogers and Dr.’s at the Duke Cancer Center.
