Janet Lynn McFarland

Janet Lynn McFarland passed away unexpectedly at her home in Cary on November 27, 2019. Kind, Caring, Compassionate, and Loving are words that best described Janet. Always willing to give of herself to help her family and friends.

Janet was born in Cleveland, OH to the late Lowell and Gladys McFarland on December 13, 1954. In 1980, she moved to Cary, North Carolina. She is survived by her sisters Karen (Bob) Kattman and Diane (Terry) Cuper, both of Cary, brother David (Mary) McFarland, of Butler, PA, nieces Kristine Bass of Cary, Katie (Galen) Hubert of San Francisco, CA and nephew Scott (Kara) Cuper of San Francisco, CA. She adored her two (2) great nephews, John and David Bass.

Janet was a great lover of animals, with a particular affinity for cats. Over the years Janet opened her home to many abandoned or injured cats. She worked for many years at Northwoods Animal Hospital.

A Memorial Service celebrating Janet’s life will be held at 2 PM on January 4, 2020 at Christ The King Lutheran Church, 600 Walnut Street, Cary, NC. Inurnment will occur in the Christ the King columbarium following the service. Memorials in Janet’s memory may be made to the Christ the King Lutheran Church Legacy Fund, P.O. Box 164, Cary, NC, the SPCA of Wake County 200 Petfinder Lane, Raleigh, NC 27603, or the charity of one's choice.
