Janet Wallace Haff of Raleigh, formerly of Kingston, NY quietly passed while napping, on Saturday February 18, 2017. She was 66. The oldest daughter of Jerri and Lew Wallace, Janet graduated from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY with a BA in French and went on to work for IBM for 30 years, retiring as a Market Analyst.
She was an avid reader and music lover. She was Oma (Grandmother) to many neighborhood children and enjoyed babysitting and telling them stories. She loved camping, and traveling, especially cruise ships.
She was married to Richard Haff of Raleigh North Carolina, a fellow IBMer. She is survived by her parents, Jerri and Lew Wallace, sisters Karen Smith, and Lynn Payne, nephew Kevin Smith, nieces Gale and Laura Smith and great nephew Oscar Traverso and great nieces Kathryn Oates and Scarlet Traverso as well as step children Lee and Christopher Haff.
Janet enjoyed entertaining and spending time with her neighbors and dear friends from the book club and exercise class. She leaves behind her cocker spaniel Candy, a loyal companion. Janet was a loving wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be missed and never forgotten.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 1:30 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 100 Lochmere Drive West, Cary, NC. 27518. A time of visitation will follow the service at church.
