James K. Walker

Jim served in the US Coast Guard and attended Bradley University. He was employed as a Service Manager with Caterpillar and retired from Gregory Poole Equipment Company in Raleigh with over 30 years of service. He was President in 1992 and Treasurer for many years with the Shriners and was a member of the Elks Lodge as well.

He is loving remembered by his wife of 56 years, Rita M. Walker; by his six children, James Scott Walker, Anne Marie Crawford (Carl), Donald Paul Walker (Janet), Charles David Walker (Hannah), Robert Michael Walker and Amy Louise Skane (Bob); 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, David Walker (Nancy) and John Walker (Judy) ; sisters, Pauline Henchel and Janie Williams; and by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 1-3 PM at Mitchell Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word, followed by Military Honors and the Masonic Service will begin at 3 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Raleigh Memorial Park.
