Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Ann Bedingfield, his son, Brace (Stefanie) and grandchildren, Isabella, Victoria, and Emma Margaret of Raleigh, and grandchildren, Rebecca, Laura, Wesley Lollar, his twin brother, Joseph P. Bedingfield (Katherineann) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, his sister, Kathryn (Tap) of Birmingham, Alabama, his niece, Lisa Johansen (Jeff) and nephew, G. Michael Myers of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Also, Steven Sadler and Stewart Sadler of Birmingham, Joseph Bedingfield, Jr. and Katherine Grant of Atlanta, great niece, Sarah Johansen and great nephew, Cooper Myers. Jim is preceded in death by son, George Myers Boone.
Jim was born on June, 6 1937 in Selma, Alabama to J.P. and Katie Wheeler Bedingfield. He had a happy childhood with many stories and memories he would tell. Jim graduated from the University of Alabama. There, he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and a member of the Army ROTC. Jim served in the Army as Capitan, active and reserve duty. In 1964, he moved to Miami, Florida and began a career in the insurance business which later became Bedingfield and Associates. Jim was a member of University Baptist Church in Coral Gables, Florida for nearly 50 years serving as deacon and in prison ministry. Jim loved good golf games with his buddies, telling jokes, fun times and above all, he loved his Lord. Jim had a strong faith in Jesus Christ and was thankful for each day of his life, fulling trusting in Him.
Visitation is scheduled at 10:30 on January 24 with a funeral at 11:00 am at Trinity Baptist Church 4815 Six Forks Rd, Raleigh, NC 27609.
