Irma Bobbitt Hardy

Irma Bobbitt Hardy, 89, died on January 16, 2013 at the Hospice House of Wake County. Born January 3, 1924, the fourth of six children, she was the daughter of the late Cora Brewer and George Ricks Bobbitt, Sr., of Nash County and the widow of the late Parrott Mark Hardy, Jr.

A Graveside Service will be held by Reverend Lisa Yebuah, of Edenton Street United Methodist Church, on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 2PM at Montlawn Memorial Park. Interment at Montlawn will follow.

Survivors include; sons, Parrott Mark Hardy, III and Roger Brewer Hardy; daughter in law, Cynthia Dear Hardy; and grandson, Robert Sean Hardy, all of Raleigh; sister, Virginia Bobbitt Sessoms, of Nashville; brothers, George Ricks Bobbitt, Jr., of San Francisco, CA and John Barrett Bobbitt, of Rocky Mount.

Mrs. Hardy graduated from Nashville High School in 1941 and completed the one year commercial course at UNCG in 1942. She was a retired employee of North Carolina State University. She was an avid organic gardener, held a lifelong interest in art, and was an active member of Cokesbury-Isley Class and Edenton Street United Methodist Church.
