Irene B. Harris

Irene was employed with Southern Bell for 20 years until the birth of her loving daughter Kelli. During Kelli’s childhood she began working for Wake County School in Food Service where she proudly served for 20 years until her retirement in 1993. She was an early member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Irene is preceded in death by her husband, Wiley D. Harris and brother, Thomas Briley.

Irene will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by everyone blessed to have known her.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Kelli Hammill and husband Brian; granddaughter, Emily Hammill; step-son, Wiley D. Harris, Jr. and family; sisters, Gaynell Lewis, Nannette Everett and husband Eddie, Dorothy Meeks and husband Wyatt; brother, Dennis Briley and wife Mildred; special friend, Ann Owens and numerous other loving family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609.

A Graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Raleigh Memorial Park, officiated by Dr. Jeff Roberts from Trinity Baptist Church.
