Hilda Blackmon Blake

Mrs. Blake was married 35 years to Retired Raleigh Fire Dept. Captain Ollie L. Blake. She was born in Four Oaks on August 28, 1938. She was a devoted mother of seven boys. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Raleigh for 33 years. She worked part time at Hair Creations Hair Salon in Raleigh.

Mrs. Blake will be greatly missed and is survived by her husband Ollie L. Blake. Five remaining sons; Tony Strickland of Raleigh, Richard and Sharon Browning of Wake Forest, John and Elissa Blake of Kernersville, Craig and Sandy Strickland of Raleigh, Keith and Sue Strickland of New York. She has surviving siblings; Wayne Blackmon, Linda Savage, and Brenda Mott all of Virginia, and Faye Fields of Youngsville. She has 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 19th from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh NC. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday January 20, at Trinity Baptist Church, 4815 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27609.Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
