1932-2020
Herbert Hall went home to be with our Lord on Monday April 20th, 2020. Loretta, his wife, was at his side when he passed.
Herbert was born February 9th, 1932 in Tampa, Florida to Wilmer Percival Hall and Effie Nelson Hall. He was the youngest of four “Hall” boys
Herbert served in the United States Army from 1950-1953 in the 714th Tank Battalion of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He married Loretta Jeanette Conine on January 26th, 1953. During their marriage they had four children; Debra, Donna, Tammy and Maurice. Herbert lived in central Florida until August 2016. He and Loretta then moved to Carthage, North Carolina.
During his lifetime Herbert became a master mechanic and continued on this track for fifty plus years.
Herbert was musically gifted and was able to play almost any song on his harmonica. Many times, he played for his church and family gatherings.
Between his whimsical and caring personality, his knowledge of mechanics and his musical talents, Herbert was able to assist and entertain generations of family and friends.
Herbert is survived by his wife Loretta J. Hall, his daughter Donna L. Butler and her husband Alphonso E. Butler, his daughter Tammy D. Crosby and her husband Wayne A. Crosby, his grandchildren James W. Potter III, Jennifer L. Triolo and her husband Peter C. Triolo III, Wayne A. Crosby II, Sarah E. Crosby, Alexander I. Butler and his wife Jennifer H. Butler, Zack Van Meter, Andrea M. Butler, Jacob D. Butler, Josef A. Crosby, Johnathan E. Crosby, his great-grandchildren Joseph, Emily, Emma, Charlie, Zhoie, Aviana, Immanuel, Harmony and extended family and friends.
Due to the current pandemic, memorial services will be held at a later date.
