Penny was born on January 4, 1947 and grew up on Cape Cod with her two sisters, two brothers and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She graduated from the Madeira School and Smith College and was in banking before making the decision to stay home and rear her two children.
She was a loyal and loving friend to many, loved to travel and sail (winning many races on Nantucket sound with her two sisters), and never left her house without her lipstick and earrings. She was quick-witted, read voraciously, had a true love of language, and always believed in the power of a well-written letter.
She is survived by her two loving children, Barbara & David, their spouses Cal & Ailish, & four beloved grandchildren.
