Hannah was born January 1, 1923 in Cairnbrook, PA to James Edward and Elizabeth Robison Hunter. In 1984 she retired as Deputy Treasurer with the City of Newport News, VA. After her retirement she moved to Raleigh to be near her family. She was a member of St. Philip Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, Thomas L. Wood, Sr.
Hannah is survived by her devoted son, Thomas L. Wood, Jr. of Raleigh; daughter, June Eason and her husband, Jeff of Raleigh; grandson, Simpson Eason and his wife Christine of Durham; granddaughter, Leigh Anna Farrell and her husband, Michael of Winter Springs, FL; great grandchildren, Evelyn Hope Eason; and Hannah Jean Farrell; and brother, Jim Hunter and his wife Wilda of Irwin, PA.
Hannah was an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She lived a life of service and sacrifice for her family and others.
A private graveside service will be held this week at Pennisula Memorial Park in Newport News, VA. There will be a memorial service held at St. Philip Lutheran Church on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 2 PM.
