He was born on May 24, 1950, in Toronto, Canada. Gordon later resided in Hendersonville before relocating to Raleigh to build a sailboat. He resided in Wake County, North Carolina for most of his adult life. He worked as a Residential Builder for over 40 years and built many custom homes in Wake and Johnston Counties. Gordon even constructed homes featured in The Parade of Homes and won awards over his career.
Gordon was an avid outdoorsman, and spent a lot of his time outside gardening, or planting fruit trees. He enjoyed spending time with his son, Ross, whether it was on motorcycles, four-wheelers, or sharing their love of cars with each other. Sydne has fond memories of riding on the back of Gordon’s motorcycle enroute to the rodeo. Gordon was very mechanically inclined and could put anything together, or fixed anything that needed fixing. His family remembers him fondly as kind, reserved, and especially for his dry wit.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Katherine and William Munro. He is survived by his family; Robyn Jonas-Munro, Ross and Maddie Munro, Sydne Munro and her fiancé Daniel Kiger. He also is survived by his sister, Maureen Faust who resides in Beaufort , North Carolina.
The family would like to thank the staff at Longleaf Neuro-Medical Center in Wilson, North Carolina for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
